June 17: Continued Progress
Awoke feeling grateful for the gift of a new heart and another anniversary together.
Participated in physical therapy and showed encouraging improvement while sitting on the side of the bed. Goal is to sit up in the recliner tomorrow.
Completed a swallowing evaluation with speech therapy in preparation for resuming meals. Currently on a low-microbial diet.
Receiving continuous dialysis treatment to help remove excess fluid, with positive results so far.
June 16: Physical Therapy Begins
Participated in the first physical therapy session. Each small milestone is an encouraging step forward in the recovery journey.
June 15: Recovery Update
Recovery continues. Kidney function is being supported with dialysis while the medical team closely monitors progress.
The breathing tube has been removed, and resting comfortably.
June 13: Recovery Begins
Now settled into the recovery unit. The medical team will gradually begin the awakening process. We are thankful for a successful surgery and encouraged by the initial progress.

Surgery is complete, and recovery has begun. We are grateful for the skilled medical team and this precious gift of life.

The new heart has been successfully implanted, and everything is progressing well. Thank you for keeping us in your prayers.

The new heart is being implanted. We are overwhelmed with gratitude and thank everyone for their love, prayers, and support.
June 12: Surgery Underway
Surgery officially began at 11:10 p.m. Chicago time. Thank you for your continued prayers for the donor family and medical team.
June 12: Preparing for Surgery
Heart transplant surgery is scheduled for this evening. We are grateful, hopeful, and appreciative of all the prayers and support during this life-changing moment.
